Clams and Oysters

This isn't exactly The Deadliest Catch, but it's not a tea party either. These guys are out harvesting clams and oysters rain or shine. They were out the other day and it was raining in sheets sideways. It's also very interesting to see them when the tide is low and they are knee deep in mud, that must be the hardest part of the job. I would love to tag along with these guys sometime and understand the complete process, but for now I will share with you some photos of them dropping and retrieving some baskets. If you want to learn more about what they are doing you can visit www.taylorshellfishfarms.com

Hetch Hetchy construction project

This is a massive project that is super fun to watch develop. Amazingly, it will touch the lives of many. These immense tubes will provide water to those who enjoy the fresh source from Hetch Hetchy. The next step in this specific phase will be to tunnel under Highway 101, approximately 20 feet below traffic and come out on the other side.

Get ready for some cool photo posts of actual construction sites around the bay area. This is for the true construction lovers out there. You know who you are....two year old's who love bright, loud, flashing things, those of us who have just never gotten over that phase, and for all who have become enthralled with heavy equipment via our two year old children!
